Sometimes, a tooth becomes damaged to the point that saving it is not recommended it.
In these cases, tooth replacement allows the patient to maintain a healthy set of teeth with a similar look and feel to their natural teeth.
Depending on your individual needs, your dentist may recommend an implant, a bridge, or dentures.
Leaving a missing tooth untreated is not recommended, because your teeth will shift into the gap, creating an uneven bite and increasing the risk of gum disease.
Dental Implants Allow for Simple, Clean Replacement
After a tooth is pulled, a replacement tooth can be implanted into the area, in the form of a biocompatible titanium post.
The bone fuses around the post over a few months and becomes a part of your jaw. The replacement tooth is a custom-made crown or cap which is specially made to fit the implant. Click here for more information on Implant Restorations
Your “Bridge” to a Confident Smile
A dental bridge fills a gap in your smile by taking advantage of the strength of the surrounding teeth.
The two teeth on either side of the gap are shaped into anchors. A bridge is prepared that fits over the anchors, with an implant between them to fill in for the missing tooth.
Bridges are often recommended when the surrounding teeth are good candidates for anchors, or when the gum line or jawbone do not appear to be good hosts for the posts necessary for implants.
Advancements in Removable Partial and Full Dentures
Removable appliances called Dentures can be full or partial. Many new types of partial dentures are available that are metal free and more comfortable such as Flexible Partials.
Full Dentures can be made prior to having your teeth removed and placed the same day they are extracted. These are called Immediate Dentures.
Every situation is unique, so Dr. Shah will consult with you and present to you the best options that are right for your lifestyle.

Reviews
Dr. Shah is a compassionate, caring, skilled dentist. I am not a fan of going to the dentist (any dentist), but Dr. Shah always takes the time to make me feel at ease. He recently gave my smile a much needed makeover with 5 porcelain crowns and I couldn't be happier.

Great service from the entire office. Scheduling is always a positive experience, cleanings are fast and effective and more-involved services are always conducted pain free. I also appreciate that Dr. Shah takes time to speak with you and set you at ease. Insurance and billing are always addressed in a timely manner. I would recommend this practice to everyone!
